Ceiling Grids
Ceiling grids are required to hang false ceiling installations. Removable ceiling tiles are affixed to the ceiling grids. There are a number of grid options such as:
- Suspended grid (t-bar grids, drop-ceiling grid, etc.)- These are specifically made to hang from the true ceiling/ceiling joists, allowing enough space above the drop-ceiling grid to hide any duct work, electrical, plumbing & other unsightly but important utilities that are placedĀ near the ceiling
- Direct Mount Drop-Ceiling Grid– This type of ceiling grid is generally used in basements and most basement remodelling work now includes a demand for this kind of a grid. It is extremely important to maintain ceiling height in a basement and these drop ceiling grids are perfect for this space
- designer grids– These include 3-D grids, curved grids, open grids, floating grids & other twists on conventional drop ceiling grids
Regardless of the type of grid used, they perform very similar functions and add to the look of the ceiling too.
